Scientists from University of Essex want to find out why taking
a break in natural green spaces is good in combating work
stress.
"We want to explore and understand what happens in our body in
terms of both physiological and biochemical changes in the body in
response to stress and whether this can be altered by something as
simple as viewing nature", said in a news release Dr
Valerie Gladwell, from the Department of Biological
Sciences.
The project will look at whether taking time out from the office
in a natural green space can help reduce stress.
"We want the scientific evidence to back-up the link to nature
and reduction in stress levels," explained Dr Gladwell, leader of
the project.
